This site is a tribute to Bill, who was born in Appledore in 1922.
He was the younger brother of Nancy, his much-loved sister who passed away on 28th December 2015.
He married Trixie on 26th December, 1949, and passed away on 26th December 2017, their 68th Anniversary. They had three daughters, Rosalyn, Ali and Kate. He is survived by all his immediate family.
Bill began teaching at Chew Magna School in January 1950 and retired as Headmaster of Chew Valley School in 1984. He led the school sailing team to victory in the National Schools Championships in 1971.
He was a founder member of Chew Valley Lake Sailing Club and was its Commodore in 1978,1979 and 1980.
Bill and Trixie were members of Chew Stoke Bowling Club for many years during Bill's retirement.
He is much loved and will always be remembered.
